Bernadette Peters

 

Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American performer and actress. She has appeared on films, television, musical theatre and solo shows, and also recorded recordings. Her career spans more than six decades. She is an acclaimed Broadway performerwho has received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award), and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, getting three. Grammy Awards have been won by four of the Broadway album cast that she has appeared in.



 



 Many consider Peters to be the top Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is especially well-known for her performances on Broadway, such as in Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
